Charles A. Cowen

Charles “Chuck” Cowen, age 75, long-time resident of Scarsdale, NY, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, May 9, 2019 at Calvary Hospital, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. He was the beloved husband of Lorraine (Marra) Cowen and the loving father of Christopher (Jeana) Cowen, Marie Elena (Michael) Tarone and Anthony (Gaby) Cowen.  Charles was also the cherished grandfather of Gabrielle, Kaitlyn, Elena & Addison. He was predeceased by his sister Joan (Cowen) Janaro and is further survived, loved and missed by several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Charles was born and raised in Bronx, NY to Charles & Alice (Cisneros) Cowen on September 19, 1943. After graduating from high school, he went on to receive his BA from Michigan State University. He was an honorably discharged Vietnam veteran and member of the U.S. Army Special Forces (Green Berets). The majority of his professional life was spent in automotive sales and management.

Family and friends are invited to Pleasant Manor Funeral Home, 575 Columbus Avenue, Thornwood, NY on Monday, May 13, 2019 from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 – 9:00 PM for visitation. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Charles at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 85 Harrison St, West Harrison, NY on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 95 Kings Hwy, New Rochelle, NY.
