Welcome to the memorial page for

Earl H. Fash

August 25, 1959 ~ August 3, 2017 (age 57) 57 Years Old

Mr. Earl H. Fash passed away unexpectedly in Turks and Caicos while on vacation with his loving family on Thursday, August 3, 2017.  Earl was born in Miami Beach, Florida on August 25, 1959 to proud parents Samuel and Fay Fash (nee Richman).  He was the beloved husband of Julie Fash (nee Jankowski).  Proud and loving father of Camron and Samuel.  Cherished brother in law of Scott Jankowski, Tom (Joanna) Jankowski - Sophia and Isabella - and Cathy (Steve) Roccabruna - Olivia and Justin.  Professionally, Earl was a well respected and loved Vice President / Creative Director for Showtime Sports for 35 years. He was an avid car lover and collector, some of those cars include a 1972 Oldsmobile, 2016 Hellcat, 1989 Firebird and a 2009 Dodge Challenger to name a few.  Walt Disney, Mickey Mouse, the Miami Dolphins, New York Mets, music, concerts, traveling and work were Earl's other hobbies and loves in his life.  But the greatest love and most fond memories will always be his family, Julie - Camron - Samuel.

It is with deep sadness that we share the news that our longtime colleague and friend Earl Fash passed away suddenly today while on vacation with his family.  While we are at once shocked and saddened by this tragedy, we would like to take a moment to reflect on Earl’s impact on this company and its employees.

Earl was a valued employee of Showtime for over 35 years, making him one of the longest-tenured employees of the company.  After starting in the Showtime mailroom in 1982, Earl quickly rose through the ranks, eventually serving as Vice President & Creative Director of SHOWTIME Sports, overseeing production of sports promos, features and original programming.  Earl was a driving force behind hundreds of boxing events and mixed martial arts events and virtually every other SHOWTIME Sports program since the department’s inception in 1986.  He and his team produced countless pieces of content — possibly close to 10,000 in all, including promos, radio spots, features, opens, teases and full-length shows – constantly striving for and setting new standards for premium content.  He was one of the creators and lead producers of SHOWTIME Sports’ signature franchise, ALL ACCESS.  His work has earned multiple Emmys, Promax Awards and virtually every other honor that the industry bestows.  During his time with Showtime, Earl mentored countless budding editors, producers and executives, all of whom are testaments to his knowledge and generosity.

More importantly, Earl epitomized what we describe as the “Showtime family.”  Earl led with his heart.  He was a cheerful colleague, a selfless collaborator and a trusted confidante.  He never failed to meet the challenges of constant travel, long hours and compressed creative deadlines with his trademark smile and infectious enthusiasm.  Earl’s warmth and sense of humor made him a particular favorite among the boxers he worked with, and he forged life-long friendships with Johnny Tapia, Mike Tyson and many others.  Above all, Earl was a dedicated family man, and his two sons have been constant fixtures at Showtime boxing events for many years.

Earl will be profoundly missed.
