Richard Petersen passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 20, 2017.  He was born in New York City to proud parents Frederick and Anna Petersen on July 23, 1947.  He was the beloved husband of Patricia (nee Arce).  Loving father of Jennifer (Al) Bianco and Scott (Amy) Petersen.  Cherished and forever loved grandfather to Evan Bianco and Kyle and Luke Petersen. Loving brother of the late Frederick Jr.  He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews to mourn his loss.  Richard enjoyed many things in life, but the most enjoyment came from spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.  Richie loved all sports especially baseball.  Some of other Richard's loves and passions were cruises, beaches, keeping up with the stock market.  Another of Richard's loves was music, some artists he enjoyed were: Felix Caviliere and the Rascals' and Rock and Roll music; the Spinners and the Beach Boys.

Family and friends are invited to Pleasant Manor Funeral Home, Inc. 575 Columbus Avenue Thornwood, New York 10594 on Sunday, November 26, 2017 from 2:00 - 7:00 PM for visitation.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Richard at Holy Rosary Church on Monday, November 27, 2017 at 10:00 AM.  Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, New York.
