Angelina (Scavone) Morano

Angelina Morano, a lifelong resident of West Harrison, passed away on September 10, 2023, just shy of her 96th birthday. Born September 27, 1927, in Guardia Lombardi, Italy to the late Antonio and Alessandra (Damiano) Scavone. Angelina arrived in the U. S. at the age of seventeen and settled in West Harrison. Her lifelong hobbies included baking, cooking, gardening, sewing and entertaining. She met the love of her life, Guy Morano the night before she embarked on a ship that would bring them both to America. She married him on October 19, 1952. They were blessed to be married 60 years and simply adored each other. Throughout her life she remained loyal to her faith. Angelina was a member of the Holy Rosary Society of St. Anthony of Padua Church and a long-time volunteer at all parish functions. Angelina’s strong desire to help others was reflected in the way she always showed up for family and friends when they were in need.

She is survived by her loving children, son, Louis Morano, (predeceased-Linda), her daughter Marianna Amato (Gerald), Guy Morano Jr. (Susan) and her three cherished grandchildren, Louis Morano Jr., Michael Morano, Christine Morano, a step grandson, Michael Amato, and her sister-in- law, Rose Cipriano (Sam). This year she was blessed with a step-great-grandchild, Zoey Marie Amato. Angelina has many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.  Angelina was predeceased by her husband, Gaetano, her sister Carmela DiBiasi (Mario) and brothers, Joe Scavone (Fanny), Salvatore Scavone (Carmela), in-laws; Luigi and Maria (Portanova) Morano, brother-in-law, Sam Cipriano and sister-in-law, Grazia (Tanino) Mochella.

Family and friends are invited to Pleasant Manor Funeral Home, Inc. 575 Columbus Avenue - Thornwood, New York 10594 on Sunday, September 17, 2023 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM for visitation.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Angelina at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church 215 Halstead Avenue - Harrison, New York 10528 on Monday, September 18, 2023 at 10:00 AM.  Angelina will be entombed with her beloved husband Gaetano (deceased 2012) at The Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale following the funeral mass.
