Anita Rose (Lombardi) Sammarco

Anita Rose Sammarco (nee Lombardi)

Anita R. Sammarco passed away on April 13, 2025 at the age of 91.  She is predeceased by her beloved husband of 66 years, Frank R. Sammarco, her parents, Domenick and Rose Lombardi, her sister and best friend Lucille Bizzaro and brother Richard Lombardi.  She is survived by her children, Frank and Cindy Sammarco, Roseann Casatelli, Christine and Tony Cerrato, her grandchildren, Frank and Brittany, Joseph and Diana, Alexander, Nicole, Anthony and Jennifer, Michael and Kaitlyn and many nieces and nephews.

Anita was born in Yonkers, New York and she graduated from Yonkers High School of Commerce with a major in dressmaking.   Family, love and laughter was her focus and joy throughout her entire life.  

She and her husband traveled from Hawaii to Italy.  She loved spending time with her friends at the Senior Center dancing, laughing, eating, playing cards, especially Rummikub.  She was a true artist and loved sewing, crafting, gardening and cooking (her lasagna is legendary).  Her family and friends will miss her dearly.

Family and friends are invited to Pleasant Manor Funeral Home, Inc. 575 Columbus Avenue - Thornwood, New York 10594 on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 from 9:00 - 10:45 AM for visitation.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Anita at Annunciation Church in Tuckahoe on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at 11:30 AM.  Anita will be laid to rest in her family crypt alongside her beloved husband Frank Ralph Sammarco who predeceased her on December 2, 2022 at The Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale.
