Barbara Ann Brehmer
July 15, 1942 – August 4, 2025
Barbara Ann Brehmer, a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2025, surrounded by her family.
Born on July 15, 1942, in Bronxville, New York, Barbara was the daughter of the late Elizabeth Ann (O’Neill) Fennessy and John Edward Fennessy. She was born a triplet and grew up as a twin with her beloved sister Elizabeth Jane Bianco “Betty.” She was predeceased by parents, her sister Patricia “Teedy” Diibon and her brother John Edward “Eddie.” Barbara is survived by her older brother Michael and her sister Shirley, along with her twin sister Betty, with whom she shared a lifelong and unbreakable bond.
She is survived by her husband and partner of nearly 62 years, Albert “Larry” Brehmer. Together, they built a beautiful life rooted in love, laughter, and family. Barbara is also survived by her four children: Marylou Pratt (Rob) , John (Laura), Peggy Clark (Ken), and Larry (Aimee). She was a proud grandmother to 18 grandchildren and great-grandmother to 6 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy.
Barbara was a warm and compassionate presence in the lives of everyone who knew her. She had a remarkable ability to make those around her feel valued and heard. She offered her wisdom freely, always with honesty, kindness, and grace. Her family, friends, and all who knew her will remember her for her generosity of spirit and unwavering love.
One of Barbara’s greatest joys was dancing with her husband Larry. For decades, they spent Friday and Saturday nights dancing to live music and continued this tradition throughout their marriage. Their deep bond and devotion to each other was a beautiful example of enduring love and partnership.
Above all, Barbara believed that family was the most important thing in the world. She lived that belief every day, creating a legacy of love, strength, and togetherness that will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at 4:00 PM at Pleasant Manor Funeral Home, 575 Columbus Ave in Thornwood, New York. All who knew and loved Barbara are welcome to attend and honor her remarkable life.
