Barbara June (Schmitt) Orenstein

Barbara June Orenstein of West Harrison passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2026 at Hudson Valley Hospital in her 89th year.  

Barbara was the heart of her family, a woman whose kindness, beauty, and unwavering love touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.  Her nurturing spirit defined her life, and she took great pride in being a devoted mother, stepmother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and a loyal friend to many.

She shared 33 wonderful years with her beloved partner, Thomas Russo. Together, they built a life filled with companionship, laughter, and deep mutual respect. Their years together were marked by love, support, and countless cherished memories.

Barbara found joy in the simple moments like gathering with family and celebrating her grandchildren’s milestones. Her presence brought a sense of calm and reassurance, and her generosity of spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

She will be remembered for her beauty, her strength, and the unconditional love she gave so freely. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the family she held so dear.

Barbara will be deeply missed and forever remembered with love.
