Declan Patrick Redfern, aged 63, passed away on Tuesday, October 10th 2023 surrounded by his loving family. Declan was a beloved husband, father, son, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Declan was born on July 13, 1960 in the Borough of Burnley in Lancashire, England, to Bernard Redfern and Bridget Ellen Redfern, and later moved to Staffordshire where he spent his formative years.
While students at Nottingham Trent University England, Declan met his wife Christine Blakeway Redfern, where he also earned a Bachelor Law Degree with Hons, (LLB) finishing his Post Grade LPC Legal practice course at Chester Law School in England, and “Articles" at Nowell, Mellor and Nowell Solicitors in Stafford, UK. After moving to NYC and passing the New York State Bar Examination, Declan became an attorney and partner at Kayser Redfern, where he spent 37 years. Throughout his career, he was known for his determination, dedication, and passion for helping others.
Married in 1985, Declan was a loving devoted husband, and life partner to Chris for 44 years, their journey took them from the UK to the USA, and many incredible adventures around the world together. He was her soulmate, best friend and his infectious personality will be forever loved and missed.
But more than anything, devoted father to three beautiful children. He loved spending time with his children, especially coaching and playing soccer on the weekends, watching Chelsea football matches, and cooking delicious Sunday roasts, which tended to include Yorkshire Puddings and ample gravy. He was always there to offer guidance, support and encouragement, no matter what challenges they faced.
Declan is survived by his loving wife, Christine, his children Declan Thomas, Devon Felicity and McKenzie Emma, and his grandson Reece Banks. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
