Doris Becker Lowenfels, 97, of Thornwood, NY, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family, on September 24, 2025. She was the daughter of Amy Rosettt Becker and Leonard Becker and grew up in Scarsdale, NY. Doris met her husband of 77 years at the young age of ten! Together they raised 4 children in White Plains, NY. When theirchildren entered school, Doris began her career as a librarian at the White Plains and Chappaqua public libraries. She helped computerize the Westchester Library System and she proudly promoted library services to the wider community. She had a lifelong thirst for learning and was part of several book clubs, poetry groups, and the American Association of University Women. She studied multiple languages and cuisines throughout her life, connected to her world travels. Towards the end of her life, Doris greatly enjoyed watching and feeding hummingbirds from her back porch.
Doris is survived by her husband, Albert, sons Charles (Sheila) and Robert, and daughters Kate Blanas (Jim) and Ann (Steve Redler). She is also the proud grandmother of Nina Zelic, Demetri Blanas, JJ Frasca, Lincoln Frasca, Doris Rose Frasca, as well as seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be held privately under the direction of Pleasant Manor Funeral Home, Inc.
