Dorothy Palmer Obituary

Dorothy Ada Palmer 89, resident of Sandy Creek, NY formerly Pelham, NY, went home to Our Lord Saturday, November 22, 2025.

The daughter of the late Edward C. Breden and Adeline Sampson Baker Breden, born March 14, 1936 in Mount Vernon, NY.

Dorothy was married to Richard L. Palmer, her junior/senior high school sweetheart, for 35 years until his death in January, 1989 and she remained truly devoted to his memory.

As an amazing daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Dorothy exemplified living life with empathy, selfless service to others, humor, unconditional love and support, and a little bit of impish mischief.  Her light in life shined brightly, deeply touching all those she encountered along the way.  She loved the ocean, particularly reminiscing about the fond memories swimming and enjoying the days at the beach with family on Henn Island, NY and Hatteras Island, NC.  She loved reading in the sun outside or indoor by the windows.  She also enjoyed swimming, making puzzles, card games and indoors and outdoor games with loved ones. She reveled in having spent countless hours traveling to support her loved ones, including academic and athletic endeavors.

Dorothy is predeceased by her brothers Phillip Breden (Jeanne), Edward Breden (Theda), James Breden (Gail), and sisters Alice Ehmann (Carl), Florence Kaeser (Carl) and Arlene Breden.

She is survived by her sister Henrietta Rossi, and numerous nieces and nephews; sons Richard Palmer (Maria), James Palmer(MaryAnne), Patrick Palmer (Karol), Scott Palmer (Christina),daughters Nancy Ennist and Dorianne Hathway (Nathan); grandchildren Jessica Palmer, James Palmer, Adrianna Palmer, Patrick Palmer Jr., Christopher Palmer, Michelle Palmer, Richard Ennist, Stephanie Ennist, Matthew Ennist, Mason Ennist, Zachary Palmer, Alexander Palmer, Max Palmer, Luke Palmer, Deanna Hathway, Maiya Hathway, and Phoenicia Hathway; and great grandchildren Payton Lane and Oliver Andriola.
