Giuseppe Dolgetta

Giuseppe “Papa Joe” Dolgetta, 92, of Bronxville, New York, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 5, 2026.

Born on December 5, 1933, in Sarno, Italy, Giuseppe lived a life defined by hard work, devotion to family, and unwavering love. It was there that he met and fell in love with his childhood neighbor and lifelong sweetheart, Maria. The two grew up together, attended kindergarten together, and built a bond that would endure a lifetime. Their love story became the foundation of a beautiful family and a legacy that continues through the generations they leave behind.

A dedicated and hardworking man, Giuseppe spent his life in the moving industry and proudly owned and operated Lehigh Moving. Known for his determination, reliability, and strong work ethic, he worked tirelessly to provide for his family and build a life filled with opportunity, love, and stability.

Above all else, Giuseppe was a family man. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, a proud grandfather, and a cherished great-grandfather. His greatest joy came from the family he and Maria created together. Through their love, they built a family that grew to include three children, 12 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. He was a constant source of strength, wisdom, and love, always putting the needs of others before his own. His kindness, selflessness, and unwavering devotion to his family will never be forgotten.

Giuseppe was predeceased by his beloved wife, Maria Dolgetta, who passed away on April 16, 2020. He is survived by his loving children, John (Adelaide), Joseph (Christine), and Nancy (Franco); his 10 granddaughters and 2 grandsons, who brought him immense pride and joy; his 13 cherished great-grandchildren, who were a continuation of the family legacy he treasured so deeply; along with extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.

A life well lived, a man deeply loved, and a heart we will never forget. His strength carried us, his selflessness inspired us, and his love will remain with us forever.

Family and friends are invited to Pleasant Manor Funeral Home, Inc. 575 Columbus Avenue - Thornwood, New York 10594 on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM for visitation.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Giuseppe at Holy Rosary Church in Hawthorne on Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at 10:30 AM. Giuseppe will be laid to rest alongside his beloved wife Maria who predeceased him on April 16, 2020 in their family crypt at The Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale following the funeral mass.
