Grazia (DiMatteo) Fuschetto

Grazia Fuschetto passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 28th, 2023 in Valhalla at 98 years old.  She was born on July 2nd, 1925 to Vito and Lucia DiMatteo in the small town of Guardia Lombardi in the province of Avellino Italy.  She married her husband Salvatore, who she loved dearly, in 1948 and settled on the family farm in Sant' Angelo dei Lombardi until they immigrated to America in 1971.

As a longtime resident of Thornwood, Grazia loved tending her garden, watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren (all of whom simply knew her as "Nonna") and crocheting in her spare time.  She was an excellent cook and homemaker who frequently made her delicious zeppoli and pizza rustica for all to enjoy especially around the holidays.  In her later years, she enjoyed watching nature and spending time in the sun on her patio.  She will be known for the wisdom she imparted on those close to her that she gained throughout the many years of her life.  

She missed her beloved husband Salvatore dearly since his passing in 2015 and will once again reunite with him in Heaven in the company of the Lord Jesus Christ.

She is also predeceased by her three brothers and four sisters. She is survived by her son Vincenzo and daughters Maria and Rosa, along with her ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Through her strong faith instilled by her mother as a child, she would frequently pray that God blesses those around her.  Dio ti benedica Grazia!

Family and friends are invited to Pleasant Manor Funeral Home, Inc. 575 Columbus Avenue - Thornwood, New York 10594 on Sunday, October 1, 2023 from 3:00 - 7:00 PM for visitation.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Grazia at Holy Name of Jesus Church in Valhalla on Monday, October 2, 2023 at 10:00 AM.  Grazia will be laid to rest in her family crypt alongside her beloved husband Salvatore who predeceased her in October of 2015 at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne.
