John Joseph Ricciardi

On October 20, 2023, John Joseph Ricciardi passed away at his home at the age of 70. 

John was born on May 30, 1953 in Bronx, NY, to Gino and Esther Ricciardi. He grew up in the Bronx and Yonkers, where he graduated from Lincoln High School. He received his Associates from Bronx Community College and went on to engineering school where he earned his HVAC license. 

On September 16, 1979, John married his grammar school sweetheart, Mary. Together, they raised two wonderful sons in Valhalla, NY. During this time, John worked as a Local 94 HVAC Engineer and ultimately a Chief Engineer over the course of his decades-long career. He was an extremely dependable employee, never missing a day of work and always ensuring his family was provided for. John was known for his unapologetically authentic personality. He enjoyed fishing, watching the Jets on Sunday afternoons, attending rock concerts, and wearing his sunglasses day and night.

John leaves behind his wife of 44 years, Mary V. Ricciardi (Faughnan), his son Adam J. Ricciardi and his wife Laura Ricciardi, his son Matthew Ricciardi and his wife Alicia Ricciardi, his sister Barbara Ricciardelli (Ricciardi), his two grandchildren Isla and Leo Ricciardi, and many nieces and nephews. He was always there for his family and will be greatly missed. 

Family and friends are invited to Pleasant Manor Funeral Home, Inc. 575 Columbus Avenue - Thornwood, New York 10594 on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM for visitation.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Innocent's Church in Pleasantville on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at 10:00 AM.  John will be laid to rest at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne after the funeral mass.
