John R. Tortorici

Mr. John R. Tortorici of Valhalla passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2024.  John was born in Cattolica Eraclea, Italy on November 23, 1939 to his late parents Pasquale and Pierina Tortorici.  He was blessed to be married to his best friend and loving wife Annamarie Tortorici for 56 wonderful years.  John was the devoted father of Laura Tortorici, Maryann Di Cosmo and her husband Peter Di Cosmo, John Tortorici, and Lisa (Tortorici) Randazzo.  He was the cherished grandfather of Marissa Di Cosmo (15), Dante Di Cosmo (12), Christopher Randazzo (11).  John is also survived by his nephews and niece, Ronnie Sorrentino and his wife Diane, Rudy Sorrentino and his wife Jessie, and Piera (Sorrentino) Eduardo.  He was predeceased by his sister Antonina (Tortorici) Sorrentino and brother-in-law- Rudolph Sorrentino. Before entering the workforce, John was a graduate of Baruch College – City College of New York after which he had a long and well-respected career.  At 73 years old, he retired from the Mid-Island Mortgage Corporation where he was the Senior Vice President of Finance.  He enjoyed being with his wife Annamarie, talking with and visiting family and friends, sitting on his deck with his espresso, keeping up with his grandchildren and Italian football. He had an avid interest in current events, politics, watching sporting events, music, and theater.  

Private family viewing.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for John at Holy Name of Jesus Church in Valhalla on Monday, October 21, 2024, at 12:00 PM.
