John P. Tucciarone

John P. Tucciarone, 86, passed away on April 13, 2026. John had a long life filled with many blessings, among them family, the New York Yankees, The New York Times crossword puzzles, traveling abroad and enjoying Turner Classic Movies. He enjoyed Italian cuisine and cooking, and had a fascination with mathematics.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen; daughter, Angela (Felix Rivera); and many beloved brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his sister, Helen (Jack) Rode.

John was born in New York on April 9, 1940, to the late Angelo and Elvira (Tosi) Tucciarone. He was a graduate of Fordham Prep, Fordham University (B.A., Mathematics), St. John's University (M.A., Mathematics); St. John's University School of Law (LL.B and J.D.); and New York University (Ph.D, Mathematics). He was a professor of mathematics at St. John's University, Long Island University and Mercy University, where he taught on the college level and in M.B.A. programs for over three decades. John also authored papers in mathematics journals and co-authored texts on programming languages.

John was admitted to the bar of the State of New York in 1970. He served as Village Prosecutor for Sleepy Hollow, NY (formerly North Tarrytown), and on the Development Board of the Hudson Valley Bank for 25 years. He was a licensed real estate broker with residential and commercial experience and was involved in real estate development and construction in Westchester County, NY.

In addition to his professional and academic accolades, John held an assortment of other unique jobs, including a short-order cook, a U.S. General Post Office employee and a NYC yellow taxicab driver.

John was a communicant of Holy Innocents parish in Pleasantville, NY. A memorial mass will be held at Holy Innocents on Friday, May 1, 2026 at 10:30 a.m.
