Our beloved Jorge Delgado entered into eternal rest on Saturday, October 25, surrounded by his family.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years, Mercedes, and his daughters Sandra Janette and Edith Xiomara, and her husband José Arturo Cobos. He was a proud grandfather to Sofía Verónica and Dario Alejandro, who brought him endless joy.
Jorge will be remembered for his kind heart, generosity, sense of humor, deep faith, love of family, and unwavering work ethic. He built a beautiful life with Mercedes, raising their family with values of love, integrity, and perseverance. His stories, laughter, and wisdom will be forever cherished by all who knew him.
Born in Colombia, Jorge immigrated to New York, where he built a wonderful life for his family and worked as a NYC yellow cab driver for more than 35 years. The city became his second home and a source of pride throughout his life. He enjoyed connecting with people from all walks of life and took great pride in helping them find their way through the busy streets of New York.
In his free time, Jorge found joy in gardening, taking walks through his beautiful neighborhood, spending time with his grandchildren, and caring for the family’s beloved pets, who were always by his side.
He will be deeply missed but forever remembered with love.
