Joseph (“Joey”) Anthony Prestigiacomo (July 8, 1963 – June 24, 2022)
Joey passed away unexpectedly on June 24, 2022 after a motor vehicle accident near Port Jervis, New York. Joey is predeceased by his father, Jack Prestigiacomo. He is survived by his mother, Caroline; his sisters, Patricia Via (Dennis) and JoAnn Caracappa (Joseph); his nephews, Joseph, Vincent, and Stephen; his niece, Caroline; and his cousin “brothers,” Pasquale Zicchinelli (Allison) and Nicholas Zicchinelli, and his cousin “nephews,” Johncarlo and Luca. Joey was born on July 8, 1963 in Bayside, New York. He graduated from Suffolk Community College with an Associate’s Degree and went on to graduate from the Culinary Institute of America. He worked in the culinary industry for the Solomon Brothers in New York and for Marriott Hotel. His culinary skills were incredible. Like his father, Jack, Joey’s love for cooking and creating delicious meals was one of his greatest passions. He could whip up a gourmet meal in a flash just by using some items in your refrigerator! Anything he made was simply the best. His other passion was construction and home improvement. He could build anything you wanted with ease. While he grew up on Long Island, New York, he found solace and peace in his home in Liberty (Ferndale), New York, where he enjoyed the fresh air, the beautiful streams and the outdoors. He loved to fish and hunt. Joey was a devoted son, brother, uncle and friend. He loved his family and his traditions with all his heart. He may be gone from our sight but never from our hearts.
