It is with great sadness that the family of Joseph C. Spedaliere announces his passing on Saturday, September 23, 2023.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, June Ann (Corrado), daughter Stephanie Riccardi and her husband Richard of Pittsburgh, PA; son Jody and his wife Tamira of Rostraver Township, Pa; and son Stephen and his wife, Jenny, of Mahopac, NY; eight grandchildren who he loved and adored: Alexander, Madeline, Maria, Noah, Abby, Jackson, Christian, and Taylor; a sister Marie Opava of Rye, and a brother, Denis of Harrison, as well as nine nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carmine and Millie, and his brother Carmine. A life-long resident of Harrison, Joe was a graduate of lona College. Throughout his career he was an accountant for the Town of Harrison; the former owner of the Brentwood Delicatessen in Harrison; and accountant and District Clerk for the Board of Education of the Harrison Central School District for thirty-five years until his retirement. Joe loved spending time with his family; traveling to tropical islands, Europe, Disney World, and numerous cities to watch baseball. He was an avid golfer and a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New York Yankees. He served as a coach for his sons' Dads' League and Little League town in his younger days, Joe, "the Web" was an avid basketball and baseball player. He had a tryout as a pitcher with the Brooklyn Dodgers.
Family and friends are invited to Pleasant Manor Funeral Home, Inc. 575 Columbus Avenue - Thornwood, New York 10594 on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM for visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Joseph at St. Paul's Catholic Church 84 Sherwood Avenue -Greenwich, Connecticut 06831 on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at 10:30 AM, Fr. Les will officiate. Entombment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Rye Brook after the funeral mass.
