Lauren Brinkerhoff

Lauren Brinkerhoff passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2020 in her 35th year.

Dr. Lauren Bernadette Brinkerhoff, age 35, beloved daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, cousin and friend, passed away on August 16th, 2020 from complications of a respiratory illness. She graduated from Monticello High School where she enjoyed academics, sports, and the arts. She particularly enjoyed math, science, skiing, swimming, running, tennis, drawing, and playing the flute.

Lauren moved to Ithaca, NY and graduated summa cum laude from Cornell University in 2006 with a degree in biological sciences. Thereafter, she relocated to Manhattan, where she earned her dual MD, MPH from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. She continued her studies as an anesthesiology resident at the University of Rochester School of Medicine. While in Rochester, she discovered an interest in medical technology innovations and worked as a special projects consultant and contributed to the formation of several startup companies.

Lauren saw the world not as it was but as it could be. Her desire to improve the quality of life for those around her was momentous. Her enthusiasm for life, creativity, spunky attitude, and witty sense of humor graced the days of everyone with whom she came in contact. She was a shining light who will be dearly missed and will forever remain an inspiration to all of us. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date. Memorials in her name may be directed to Pets Alive or the Dominican Nuns.
