Leeza Vinogradov
1937-2020
Leeza Vinogradov, formerly of Berkeley, CA, died peacefully at home surrounded by family on August 14th, 2020. Burial and service were at Sharon Gardens Cemetery, Valhalla, NY on August 16th. Born in NYC and raised in The Bronx, Leezamoved west, first to Denver, CO and then to Berkeley, CA where she lived for 35 years. Leeza graduated from Mount Sinai School of Nursing in NYC in 1958, and devoted her career to caring for the sick and dying as a registered nurse and caregiver for the elderly. She was an artist and political activist, advocate for children, animals, political prisoners, and victims of war. Leeza is survived by daughters Donna Stewart of NY, NY and Caryn Stewart and her partner David Gold of Rutland, MA; sisters Anyta Vinogradov Cosell of Colo. Spgs, CO, and Irma Fishman of Livingston, New Jersey; grandsons Sean Picotte of Holden, MA and Graham Coombs of Dallas TX, great grandchildren Maeve Picotte and Micah Picotte of Holden, MA; nieces and nephews Maia Bond and Alex Bond of CO, Michele Grossman and Eric Fishman of NJ, and dear friend Ali Patnoo of CA. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 16, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Sharon Gardens Cemetery in Valhalla, New York.
