Linda Elizabeth McAlpin - Vodak

Linda Elizabeth McAlpin-Vodak passed away in her hometown after a long battle with cancer on Sunday, June 19, 2022. Her brother Walter was by her side. Linda was born the first of four children to Walter and Blanca McAlpin in the Bronx. She was raised in Valhalla and graduated Valhalla High School in 1978. She went on to attend The Fashion Institute of Technology in Manhattan and worked as store manager/makeup artist in Cosmetics Plus. Linda married in the spring 1991, and together, they traveled the world, eventually putting down roots in Belgium. Linda loved lipstick, fashion, the arts, and spending time with those she loved. She arguably gave too many gifts. She was a devoted dog owner—first of two Yorkshire terriers, Isis and Osiris, and later, a rescued mutt named Kenzo. Through life’s challenges, Linda’s upbeat personality and positive outlook never wavered. She will be missed by many. Linda joined her late father, Walter, on Father’s Day of this year. She is survived by her mother Blanca Lucia Valderrama Lievano McAlpin, sister Theresa Alvarez, brother Walter McAlpin, sister Maryann McAlpin-Giraldo, and the nieces and nephews she adored: Danielle Alvarez, Jorge Alvarez, Deanna Alvarez, Gregory Giraldo, Daniel Giraldo, Lucas Giraldo, Jake McAlpin, Kyle McAlpin, and Claire McAlpin.

Family and friends are invited to Pleasant Manor Funeral Home, Inc. at 575 Columbus Avenue Thornwood, New York 10594 on Friday, June 24, 2022 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM for a celebration of her life. Linda will be laid to rest at Hawthorne’s Gate of Heaven Cemetery on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at 11:00 AM.
