Lucille Lowen

Lucille Hogan Lowen, a resident of New York since 1948, passed away at home in Amawalk on Sunday, August 16, 2020, surrounded by her loving family.  She was 92.

Lucille was born in Aberdeen, Mississippi on March 26, 1928, one of eight children of Holman T. and Clarice L. Jones.  The family later moved to Tampa, Florida, where Lucille attended high school. In 1948 Lucille married Joseph P. Poccia of Yonkers, New York, where they resided and raised three children.  After a divorce in 1972, Lucille married Daniel J. Lowen in 1981.  They resided in Tarrytown, New York until their divorce in 1995.  Both husbands pre-deceased her. After 1995 Lucille had homes in New York and Florida, always keeping in close touch with her three children, five grandchildren and many siblings. 

Lucille is survived by her three children - Jo Ann H. Poccia-Brace (Paul); Kenneth J. Poccia (Joanne); and Patricia Lynn Pavesi.  She has five grandchildren: Joan Poccia Geraghty (Sean); Jennifer Poccia Allan (Michael); Barbara L. Pavesi; Janneyn Poccia Phalen (Vaughn); and Robert P. Brace (Emily); as well as four great-grandchildren: Kevin and Paige Geraghty; and Brody and Hailey Allan. 

Lucille is also survived by her sister, Jimmie Laura Andrews, of Sun City, Florida; and brother Billy Flynt Jones, of The Villages, Florida.

Family and friends are invited to Pleasant Manor Funeral Home, Inc. 575 Columbus Avenue Thornwood, New York 10594 on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 from 2:00 - 5:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 PM for visitation.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Lucille at St. Patrick's Church in Yorktown Heights on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at 10:00 AM, all are welcome.  Lucille will be laid to rest following the funeral mass at Kensico Cemetery in Valhalla, New York.
