Margaret Mary Miskell

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Margaret Mary Miskell, a wonderful
daughter, sister, aunt and cousin to her loving family. She lived all her life in the Bronx, New
York. She was our little Margie, a kind-hearted woman who dedicated her life to her family,
taking care of both her mother and father during their later years. She retired from the
accounting department of Franco Steel in Manhattan where she worked most of her life. She
was also dedicated to her church as a Eucharistic minister serving the old and sick of Our Lady
of Assumption (OLA) parish in Pelham Bay.
Margie enjoyed her many trips to Ireland and the hospitality of her relatives – the Collins family
in Turloughmore, County Galway; and her frequent trips to San Diego to visit her sisters and
families always seemed to rejuvenate her spirit. She also looked forward to getting away from
the city to visit her brother and family in Beacon, NY.
Margie enjoyed the company of her many close friends, joining them on senior trips arranged
by Sister Veronica of OLA and the local AARP. Our family would like to publicly thank the
support Margaret received from her friends, especially Mary Walsh, her neighbors, the staff at
George’s Restaurant on Crosby Avenue, and the staff at Montefiore Hospital and Yorktown
Nursing Home.
Margie is survived by her sister, Mary DeDonato of San Diego and North Carolina, brother
Patrick and his wife Joan of Beacon, NY, as well as nieces, nephews and cousins in the United
States, Canada Ireland and England. She was pre-deceased by her parents, John and Margaret,
her sister Julia Landi, and brother John, Jr.

Family and friends are invited to Pleasant Manor Funeral Home, Inc. 575 Columbus Avenue Thornwood, New York 10594 on Sunday, November 7, 2021 from 1:00 - 4:00 PM for visitation.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Margaret at Our Lady of the Assumption Church 1634 Mahan Avenue Bronx, New York 10461 at 11:00 AM.  Margaret will be laid to rest in her family plot at St. Raymond's Cemetery in the Bronx, New York.
