Mary (McBreen) Doughty

Mary Doughty passed away peacefully in her 91st year on Monday, February 3, 2020.  She was the beloved wife of the late Frank, who pre deceased her in 2004.  Devoted mother of Francis X., John P., James J., Sheila (John) Maniscalco and Caroline (Dennis) Dunn.  Cherished grandmother to Erin, Kimberly, Kevin, Elaina, Cecily, John Michael, and Marianna.  Adored great grandmother to John Walter, Brooke, Ryan, Lila, and Andrew.  Loving sister of Anna Eckersley of England and Dymphna Cusack of Co. Cavan, Ireland and the  late John McBreen and Patrick McBreen.  She is also survived by her honorary son Eric Piper, his wife Ester and  her honorary grandchildren Daniel and Jasmine.   

Mary was born Knockbride Co. Cavan, Ireland. She was a pioneer.  She enjoyed making and eating Irish soda bread, Irish music and step dancing.  She also loved Gaelic football and the New York Yankees. 
 

Family and friends are invited to Pleasant Manor Funeral Home, Inc. 575 Columbus Avenue Thornwood, New York 10594 on Friday, February 7, 2020 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM for visitation.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Mary at Our Lady of the Assumption Church on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at 9:30 AM.  She will be laid to rest following the funeral mass at Calvary Cemetery in Queens, New York.
