Michael C. Capasso

Michael C. Capasso, 60, of Mahopac, N.Y., passed away June 12, 2021, at Regional Hospice and Palliative Care Center for Comfort Care & Healing with his loving family by his side, following a three-year battle with lung cancer.

Michael was born May 21, 1961, in Bronxville, N.Y., to the late Cosmio “Gus” Capasso and Rose Lamana Capasso. Growing up with 10 siblings, nothing was more important to Michael than family. After attending Roosevelt High School in Yonkers, N.Y., he went into business with his older brother, Joseph.

Michael is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years, Kerry (Lombardo) Capasso, and his adored children—daughter, Dorothy Capasso, and son, Michael Capasso. He is also survived by his loving siblings, Jeannete Roberts of Eastchester, N.Y., Barbara (Robert) Valentine of Valhalla, N.Y., Patricia Variara of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., Joseph Capasso of Patterson, N.Y., Donald (Harriet) Capasso of Yonkers, N.Y., Thomas Capasso of Jupiter, FL, Lawrence (Karen) Capasso of Irvington, N.Y., and his loving cousin, Dolores Castro of Eastchester, N.Y. He is predeceased by his sister, Linda (Capasso) Dempsey, brothers, Richard Capasso and Gary Capasso, sister-in-law, Valerie (Ricci) Capasso, and niece, Sandra (Roberts) Macchia. Michael also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and a circle of friends as big as his family.

Family and friends are invited for visitation at Pleasant Manor Funeral Home, Inc. located at 575 Columbus Avenue in Thornwood, New York 10594, on Tuesday, June 15, 2021, from 1:00 - 3:00 PM and 5:00 - 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Michael at Holy Name of Jesus Church in Valhalla, N.Y., on Wednesday, June 16, 2021, at 11:00 AM, the mass for Michael will be live streamed for those who can not attend. Entombment will be private.
