Michael J. Mele Jr.

Michael J. Mele Jr. of Hawthorne passed away in the comfort of his home on Monday, February 23, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Mike’s strength, courage, and bravery did not go unnoticed as he fought this battle. This diagnosis did not define him. His humility and gentleness throughout are a true testament to the man he was.

Michael was born in White Plains, NY to Michael J. Mele Sr. and Cynthia A. Mele of Hawthorne, NY.

Mike met the love of his life, Heidi, when they were just kids. A true love story began in 1984, married in 1990. A lifetime of love, laughter, and blessings.

Michael is survived by his devoted wife Heidi, and their two loving children, Michael III and Stephanie. His cherished mother Cynthia, brother Robert (Tanya), sister Denise (Ray), and many amazing nieces and nephews. Michael is predeceased by his adored father Michael J. Mele Sr.

Mike’s lifelong career as a plumber had a huge impact on the community and everyone he served. A career rooted from his father and passed to Mike and Rob. When you saw or spoke with Mike, his kindness, respectfulness, warm energy, and patience was instantly present and felt by all.

We had the honor of getting to share our lives with him and he will forever be in our hearts. Thank you, Mike, for being you.

Family and friends are invited to Pleasant Manor Funeral Home, Inc. 575 Columbus Avenue - Thornwood, New York 10594 on Saturday, February 28, 2026 from 1:00 - 7:00 PM for visitation.  A funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2026 at Faith Lutheran Brethren Church in Briarcliff Manor at 1:00 PM.  Michael will be laid to rest at The Kensico Cemetery in Valhalla following the funeral service on Sunday.
