Richard A. Snisky

Mr. Richard A. Snisky of Thorwood, New York passed away tragically on Sunday, February 23, 2020 at the Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, New York in his 85th year.  Richard was born in New York on August 4, 1934 and raised in the Bronx by his loving late parents Eva and Michael Snisky.  Richard was a proud United States Marine Corps veteran, immediately after graduating high school Richard joined the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War.  Richard was predeceased by the love of his life Angeline to whom he was married to for 28 years.  He is survived by his two devoted children, Evamarie Casoria and her husband Robert and Michael Snisky and his wife Debbie.  He was also a wonderful grandfather to his treasured grandchildren Colby Anne Casoria, Austin John Snisky, Dylan Nicholas Casoria. 

Prior to retirement he was a hard working talented jack of all trades kind of guy and his experiences spanned from bus driver to business owner with lots in between. After retiring from 2 full time careers he was free to do everything he ever wanted.
Richie/Dad/Grandpa loved life and there was no mistaking it when he flashed that amazing smile or laughed as he did often.  He enjoyed going to the beach, the race track, watching football or practically any sport, riding his bike, taking long road trips, and dining out. Most of all he enjoyed loving, supporting us in any way possible and spending time with the most important people in his life- his children, grandchildren and the people he loved.  Being there for his family was what is did BEST. We will miss him terribly but his memory will live on through every one he touched.

Family and friends are invited to Pleasant Manor Funeral Home, Inc. 575 Columbus Avenue Thornwood, New York 10594 on Thursday, February 27, 2020 from 4:30 - 8:30 PM for visitation. The Reverend David Lothrop will officiate a prayer service at Pleasant Manor Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday, February 28, 2020 at 10:30 AM.  Entombment with his beloved wife Angeline will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale, New York in the Shrine of Memories building.
