Sabina V. (Whyte) Walsh

Sabina V. Walsh (nee Whyte) passed away peacefully at her home in Thornwood on May 20th, 2025. She was born December 2, 1926 to the late James and Mary Whyte.

Sabina grew up in Leitra, Co. Galway Ireland and came to New York in 1948.  She started out working as a waitress in Schrafft’sand then at Chase Manhattan Bank where she met her husband, Patrick, of 64 years.  They moved to Thornwood in 1966 and remained there ever since.  Sabina had various careers throughout the years including the Chappaqua School District, Abigail Kirsh Catering and as a companion to local residents.

Sabina was a parishioner of Holy Rosary Parish for 50 years and was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians in White Plains.  She loved following the Yankees and would watch just about any sport on television.

Predeceased by her husband Patrick, she is survived by her children, Siobhan (Paul), Una (Steve) and Patrick (Stephanie), as well as her beloved grandchildren, Christopher (Katelynn), Kathleen, Keara and Cassidy.  

She will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her

Family and friends are invited to Pleasant Manor Funeral Home, Inc. 575 Columbus Avenue - Thornwood, New York 10594 on Friday, May 23, 2025 from 3:00 - 7:00 PM for visitation.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Sabina at Holy Rosary Church in Hawthorne on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at 10:00 AM, Fr. Sebastain will officiate.  Sabina will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband Patrick who predeceased her on July 2, 2023 in their family plot at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne following the funeral mass.
