Thomas A. Conlin

On Sunday, August 29th Thomas Conlin, loving husband and father, passed away at age 67.  He is survived by his wife, Jeanne (Morris) Conlin, his two sons, Ian and Kyle Conlin, his two brothers, Joseph and Paul Conlin and his sister, Maria (Conlin) Smith, 15 nieces and nephews as well as his beloved dog, Pepper.

Tom was born in Brooklyn, NY on January 27th, 1954 to Walter Conlin of Massachusetts and Joan (Dolan) Conlin of Brooklyn, NY.  Tom grew up on East 38th Street in Brooklyn with his three siblings.  He attended St. Vincent Ferrer Elementary School, graduated from Nazareth Regional High School in 1972 and earned a BA and a BS from Manhattan College in 1976.  He earned his MSW from NYU in 1998.

Tom spent his professional life in the advertising and marketing fields in New York City.  He is a survivor of the World Trade Center attack on 9/11.  

Throughout his life, Tom was passionately interested in politics and social justice issues.  For 10 years Tom served as president of Project: Hearts and Minds, a non-profit group whose mission was to bring Viet Nam veterans back to areas where they served during the war with donations of life saving medical supplies and equipment for needy clinics and hospitals.  

Tom was a talented artist.  He created beautiful paintings, jewelry, and sculptures.  Family and friends treasure Tom’s art each day.

Tom’s extraordinary spirit will be remembered by family and friends at Pleasant Manor Funeral Home in Thornwood, NY with services on 9/10/2021 from 7:00 - 9:00 PM and 9/11/2021 at 12:00 PM officiated by Father Nils Chittenden of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Armonk.  In lieu of flowers, Tom’s family has requested that memorial contributions be offered to Doctors Without Borders, or the Alzheimer’s Association, please see the links below for your convenience.
