Vincenza “Gina” Gadaleta was a beloved wife, mother, aunt, and Nonna, she departed this world on December 27th in Somers, New York, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and a lifetime of cherished memories.
Vincenza was born to Gaetano and Angela DelRosso on June 13th, 1936. She is survived by her loving husband Michele, her daughters Angela and Mariangela, her son-in-law Tony, her adoring grandchildren Briana, Laura, Marco, Michael, and Sofia, and countless family and friends who were fortunate enough to know her.
Born in the town of Molfetta (Bari), Italy, Vincenza grew up surrounded by the love of her two sisters and three brothers: Saverio, Rosaria, Corrado, Sergio, and Luciana. She was blessed to share a beautiful, and fulfilling life with her devoted husband Michele, who was her best friend. Together they started a beautiful and loving family, with two daughters, Angela and Mariangela.
In 1975, Vincenza, Michele, and her daughters, settled in the Bronx, NY on Arthur Avenue. While navigating her new life in America, she worked as a seamstress; making dresses and tailoring gowns. After her daughters graduated high school, they moved to Yonkers in a quaint yellow house, which they turned into a warm and welcoming home.
There they watched her daughters start their lives, and welcome their children to our loving family. Her grandchildren grew up having countless sleepovers at Nonna’s, and took any opportunity to share a home-cooked meal that brought family and friends together.
Vincenza’s legacy will carry on in the lives she touched, and the love she shared. Her presence lit up every room; she was playful and funny, with a knack for making others smile and laugh – a gift she shared generously with everyone she met. May she rest in eternal peace, her soul forever surrounded by the laughter and joy she so effortlessly gave to this world.
Ti vogliamo bene per sempre, Vincenza
