My apologies to the family for the errors in my prior message. Earl and I worked at Gertz Department Store in Flushing.

My condolences to Earl's family, His was one of the warmest, friendliest people I've ever met. Our friendship with Earl goes back to 1978 when Earl worked for me at Hertz department store in Flushing. I recognized no a good he was with people and problem solving and wanted him to be my assistant manager. But we all knew Earl was destined for greater things than stockroom and inventories. I have great memories of those days and trips to Great Adventures and how he was so afraid of getting on any ride that was more than 10 feet off the ground. He sat on the bench with my wife while I rode the wild rides with his girlfriend. And at the end of the night we faced back to Flushing, because we were both working the opening shift in morning. Our contact after Hertz was sporadic, Earl drove out to our house on long island in 1988 spent the day and had a great time playing with our kids, whom he hadn't seen in 5 years. i kept Earls phone # on my whiteboard in my office, spoke with him a few times while he was at Showtime and we talked about getting together. When I retired in 2015 i misplaced his number and just this morning we decided to use the internet to contact him. I was shocked and saddened to find such horrible news. He will always be missed and will always be remembered fondly. My sincere assessment condolences to his family.

I never heard your name until an hour ago the family was waiting on anticipation of the Mccgregor. Mayfield fight we watched tensely and thought how great and fortunate we were we had to borrow money to watch it it was worth every penny we scraped up at the end I saw at the end it said on memory of john fash 1959 till 2017 in Turks and Caocod . I sat and watched the slide show very carefully and was without words to express my deep sadness for your catastrophic. Loss. The fight was amazing and I'm sure he had do much love from his family and friends. I will pray for you and your family Safe journey my friend I never knew.

Sorry, and broken-hearted I could not be there to honor my long time dear friend and soul brother Earl. We have an over 30 year history together, beginning at his day 1 at Showtime, all the way through just a month ago. We shared good times, our families, and thousands of meals. Always warmed by the big heart and bright spirit Earl carried in his heart. There is just no replacing him. My heartfelt condolences to J and the boys.

EARL'S PASSING IS A TERRIBLE LOSS FOR SO MANY PEOPLE. HE WAS A MAN WHO TOUCHED SO MANY LIVES IS SUCH A POSITIVE WAY. EARL HAS BEEN MY CLIENT FOR 26 YEARS. WE HAVE SHARED HAPPY TIMES AND SAD TIME.S. I ALWAYS LOOKED FORWARD TO A MEETING WITH EARL AND JULIE. THIS MAN LIT UP MY OFFICE! HE WAS ENDEARING, CARING, AND ENTHUSIASTIC ABOUT EVERYTHING HE DID. EARL WAS A FABULOUS HUSBAND (MARRIED TO FABULOUS JULIE), A DEVOTED FATHER, AND "THE SHOWTIME MAN". I WILL REMEMBER HIM ALWAYS WITH A FEELING OF GREAT WARMTH.

Although Showtime Sports and HBO Sports were at times polarized rivals., that is not the way Earl ever saw it. It has been a joy and a privilege to work with Earl for over 20 years ... from across the street. He was the unflinching peacemaker. He made difficult things happen smoothly and with a smile. Earl was an ambassador on so many levels and is so missed. Keep punching, Earl !

To say that Earl was a sweet, kind-hearted co-worker is an understatement. He was more than that to me. He was generous with his time and knowledge.. I had the good fortune of working with Earl on a Tyson fight, and to see him in action, in his element, was so impressive. It's stayed with me ever since. Earl's smile, his laugh and his open door policy will be missed.
Rest in peace. You are a lovely soul.

I'm deeply saddened by the loss of a truly wonderful friend, husband and father. I don't think a waking hour goes by without me thinking of Earl. He was a special person - he'd help you with anything if he heard you might need that. We bonded instantly once we started talking about cars and it was a friendship for life from that point on. I'll never forget him.
